Follow on Google News | Universal Music Goup Owns Alander Pulliam named Sr Director of Urban DivisionBy: LBN TV NETWORKS Alander Pulliam recently interviewed with The Dmac of the Da Radio Show during a event in Downtown Los Angeles at the LA Convention center to help ensure that this industry is not dead and even though record sales are declining the business is still inclining with different avenues and different partnerships that will help lead the business into a new direction. On former projects we made decisions that were based on budgets now we are really making decisions based on budgets. Decisions that are well thought out and well worked out. Finding new ways to build more consumer awareness and still keeping the same method that we have always used since day one Alander Pulliam said. As our industry shrink in one area it also builds in another area. Replacing the puzzle that were lost with a much greater puzzle. I think we have to go back to the earlier days and not keep reinventing the wheels, bring the Motown sound back but with a universal sound and a urban appeal. Also have to find more qualified label reps that is more in tuned with actual talent and visioning skills. Even though marketing is where my specialty stands when it comes to the label side of things, I still know what it takes to make an artist stronger and that's a solid team of supporters and leaders and that start with the A&R's, managers and other feasible individuals that plays a major part in that artist career during the take off. We asked Alander Pulliam what changes could take place during his position as Head of Marketing in the urban division and he told us that there will be more partnerships, more placements, more branding campaigns and less one hit artist and one hit campaigns along with more qualified A&R's. I will hold my ground and stay in my lane but I will also consult matters that concern my division and our progress, Alander Pulliam said. End
