More than 300 CFC campaigns internationally and throughout the country raise millions of dollars each year. Pledges made by federal civilian, postal, and military donors during the campaign season (September 1–December 15) support qualified nonprofit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world. The mission of the CFC is to promote and support philanthropy through a program that is employee focused, cost-efficient, and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all. Federal employees can now choose to support ARISE Foundation through the CFC. ARISE is a nonprofit organization providing life skills and staff training to tough and hard to reach youth. ARISE curricula and staff training enables instructors and youth to accomplish meaningful tasks and communicate comfortably with each other. Lessons are streamlined so that barriers are removed, while adding thoughtful, innovative elements that draw both youth and instructors into the subject matter. Traumatized teens locked behind bars are abandoned, abused, mistreated and need help. They require social skills to make it in the world. ARISE dedicates their work to building social and emotional fitness in these troubled youth, by providing valuable life skills and staff training to at-risk youth and the adults who care for them. ARISE strives to enables youth to achieve their highest potential as law-abiding citizens and is most successful when they can keep youth out of the juvenile justice system.
