Northeastern Alumni Launch Boston Student Arts Network

Aug. 31, 2011 - PRLog -- Boston, MA – The Boston Student Arts Network is excited to announce the official launch of their community to support local college students pursuing careers in the arts and entertainment industry. The organization offers members the opportunity to connect with their colleagues in order to collaborate on creative projects for their professional portfolios. The free membership also includes bi-monthly newsletters with information and guidance on getting involved in the Boston art scene, weekly job alerts, exclusive networking and performance opportunities, and professional support in their creative endeavors. Through these opportunities, BSAN encourages students to use each other’s experience and specialties and build their portfolio for a post-graduate career

The Boston Student Arts Network (BSAN) was created this year by 2011 Northeastern University graduates, after suffering the frustrations of finding fellow students to work with. Founder/Director, Kelly Soule, describes ”As a film major, I always found it difficult to find talent to perform in my productions. I felt there should be a universal place for students interested in the arts to come together and collaborate. Actors could meet filmmakers, models could meet photographers, musicians could meet sound engineers etc, so that at the end of the day everyone was benefitting with something they could add to their portfolio. The possibilities for collaboration are endless.” Whether music, film, fashion, photography, theater, or visual arts, BSAN supports students of all interests. In addition to connecting students with their colleagues, BSAN strives integrate them into their professional industries. They provide students with weekly job alerts with new internship and cast/crew opportunities, and additionally coordinate networking mixers with a variety of professional Boston arts groups.
