SOS - Firefighters Needed!

Sept. 6, 2011 - PRLog -- Bastrop, Texas, is desperately needing additional firefighters to respond to a blaze that has burned over 600 homes in central Texas.

Likewise, in Magnolia, Texas, volunteers are needed in 8-hour shifts to serve first responders at the site of the Magnolia, Texas fire. Magnolia West Command Centers. Registration tomorrow (Wed) 7:30 AM-4:00 PM at Magnolia YMCA, 36725 FM 1774 (at High Meadow Ranch). Only registered volunteers allowed past Sheriff checkpoint.

Social media has been one of the state’s most useful firefighting tools as residents have kept each other informed as to the location of the fires, the direction the fires are moving, evacuation orders, and resources available to those displaced by the fires.
