Tie-Stree Shakti announces 1 lac as cash prize for Winning Women Entrepreneurs

The Indus Entrepreneurs Mumbai chapter announces the call for entry for its annual awards for women entrepreneurs – The TiE Stree Shakti Awards 2011. The awards are given to recognise the growing aspirational role of Indian women in business, and comprise a cash price of Rs 1 lakh each. Indian women entrepreneurs with an annual turnover from INR 1 lac to INR 25 Crores are invited to apply in one of the four different categories viz. Micro, Small, Emerging and Medium Enterprise. The awards have, in the past felicitated women entrepreneurs from various socio - cultural backgrounds. The entries have spanned a geographical expanse covering the entire country.

Speaking on the same, Mr. (Manak Singh, Executive Director TiE Mumbai) said, “For us at TiE Stree Shakti, every woman entrepreneur is an achiever, irrespective of whether she wins the award. With this spirit, we constantly profile women entrepreneurs who have applied and have engaged with TiE Stree Shakti. Currently we have received applications from over 40 Indian cities. We strive to deliver value to these women entrepreneurs through mentoring engagements and education interactions throughout the year.   TiE Stree Shakti has been fortunate to host iconic leaders such as  Chanda Kochchar (ICICI Bank), Anu Aga (Thermax), Harsh Mariwala (Marico) , Preeti Vyas (Giannetti Creative), Rohini Nilekani (Arghyam) and Rama Bijapurkar to name a few.”

TiEStree Shakti was conceived & launched by TiE Mumbai in 2009 is committed to celebrate & enable these ‘Inspiring Women Entrepreneurs in India. The annual conference and award ceremony will be hosted on 30th Sep -1st Oct 2011 in Mumbai and will be themed around ‘Dreaming Big’.

Some of the things to look forward to at the conference would include keynote from inspiring leaders, panel discussions on important issues and inspiring stories from women entrepreneurs. The event will also see a dance recital that celebrates woman entrepreneurs.
