Outlook Foundation Donates Two Computers as Part of "Adopt an Airman" Program

Internet Access Bridges the Communication Gap Between Airmen and Their Families

Sept. 7, 2011 - PRLog -- LAS VEGAS – The Outlook Foundation, a non-profit organization created to refurbish and repurpose computers, providing them to under resourced children as well as U.S. service personnel, recently donated two computers as part of the “Adopt an Airman” program. Airman 1st Class Isaac Lunsford and Senior Airman Seth Harris, of the 820th Red Horse Squadron, each received a Lenovo Netbook, which will help them bridge the communication gap between them and their families while they are deployed thousands of miles away.

“Computers are the number one means of communication when you are over there,” Lunsford said, “so having a computer is a huge deal for being able to communicate with my wife back here.” Lunsford’s wife will be receiving a Lenovo all-in-one desktop computer!

Airman Harris and his wife are expecting their first child in October, and he will now be able to see her. “It’s really sad to me, because I am going to miss that, but this is my chance to serve my country,” Harris said.

The computers were presented at a special event put on by the local chapter of Adopt a Serviceman, at the Silverton Hotel. Nellis Air Force Base was represented, and is the home of the 820th Red Horse Squadron. John Iasiuolo, Outlook Foundation president and host of the Internet talk show, the Computer Outlook Talk Show, made the presentations.

“All we can do is pray that they come home,” Iasiuolo said. “They can bring their computers back to my foundation, and I’ll give them something much bigger and better.”
