Sept. 13, 2011 - PRLog -- Andrew Levkoff of Phoenix, Arizona announced today that he has released the first book of a trilogy of novels about ancient Rome at the time of the fall of the Republic. Until November 11, 2011, this 90,000 word novel will be available to the public at no charge. The book may be downloaded from Smashwords at https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/87677.

As the walls of Aristotle's Lyceum crumble about him, the invasion of Athens claims Alexander, a naive philosophy student, among its myriad victims. A slave of Rome, he must not only learn how to survive, but how to come to terms with the reality that the life he expected has been taken from him forever. He will recreate himself and find his first and only love, but how can he keep her when his fate is not his own, when the ambition and greed of great men are drawing both slave and master inexorably toward war?

Andrew Levkoff is a graduate of Stanford University with a degree in English. Originally from New York City, he moved to Phoenix in 2006. This is his first novel.
