R4i SDHC V1.4.2 Card Firmware Fix for DSi V1.4.3

Sept. 22, 2011 - PRLog -- R4i SDHC team(www.r4i-sdhc.com) has released a new kernel to enable R4i SDHC V1.4.2 card to be compatible with DSi V1.4.3.

A. Below are some game bug the new kernel has fixed:

a. Firmware upgrade to support NDSi 1.4.3.

b. Integrate firmware upgrade features. Goto config menu for firmware upgrading.

c. Fix display bug of Korean language.

5773 – Camping Mama + Papa (JP)

However, it is very exciting that this new released kernel can allow you to play DS games on DSi latest firmware V1.4.3.

If you have a R4i SDHC V1.4.1,  V1.4.2 or 3DS (http://www.r4i-sdhc-dsi.co.uk/categories/R4i-SDHC/) label, please download the latest kernel to update your R4i card. Below is he upgrade instruction:

B. firmware upgrade:
a. Warning:
For DS / DSi DSLite and / DSiXL (version v1.4.3 below), it is not necessary to upgrade the R4 card.
For DSi / DSi XL v1.4.3, you need to update the card and the card can be upgraded only on an NDS/DSL or DSi/DSi XL(version lower than 1.4.3).

b. Kind reminder: When upgrading the r4i-sdhc card, it is not allowed to turn off power or pull out the card; otherwise the card will be damaged.

1. Format your Micro SD card(http://www.r4i-sdhc-dsi.co.uk/categories/Memory-Cards/).

2. Download the latest kernel R4i V1.44b English(http://www.r4i-sdhc-dsi.co.uk/pages/R4i-SDHC-Software-Dow...).

3. Unzip the file downloaded (using Winrar) on your PC.

4. Select and copy all the unzipped file (R4iMenu, moonshl2, moonmemo, R4.dat) to the root of MicroSD card.

5. Insert MicroSD card into r4i-sdhc card, insert r4i-sdhc card into nds/dsl/dsi/dsixl.

6. Please follow the steps here(http://r4i-sdhc.com/Readme_en.html) to upgrade your card.

C. R4i SDHC Card Setup Guide
1.Unzip the file downloaded aforementioned (using Winrar) on your PC.
a. Winrar can be downloaded from www.download.com by searching for Winrar at the Search.
b. Unzip the file R4i V1.43b English, you will have: "moonmemo", "moonshl2", "R4iMenu" and "R4.DAT".

2. Select all the above four unzipped files and copy them to the microSD memory card.

3. Copy your own files, including music, movies, pictures and other data to the Micro SD/SDHC memory card.

4. Plug in the Micro SD/SDHC to the R4i SDHC. Insert the R4i SDHC with the microSD into the slot 1 of the DS console. Turn on the DS console.

5. You will see the WARNING – HEALTH AND SAFETY message. Touch the touch screen or press button A to continue.

6. For DSi or DSi XL, you will see the following icon with the name ALEX RIDER STORMBREAKER THQ. Please touch the icon or press button A to continue.

7. Wait for the R4i SDHC to load.

8. Congratulation if you have come this far as you have successfully set up your R4i SDHC. There you go. Enjoy your DS with the multimedia functions.

9. If the screen is stuck with the ‘Loading’ message, it is due to the wrong driver being used. Please check the Software Preparation at the top of this guide and re-do the software download & installation.
