Sept. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- Indian-born designer Ashish Gupta has managed to impress the London Fashion Week year after year ever since 2004, when he first showcased his work as a New Generation designer. The highlights for his SS 2012 collection are: vibrant sequin sunflowers set against black and white stripes; exaggerated, sexy V-backed dresses and flowers growing out of heavy boots.


Ashish Gupta was born in Delhi and Born and is the son of two doctors. He studied Fine Art in India, moving to Middlesex to do a BA in fashion design and then on to Central St Martin’s for an MA, graduating in 2000. Ashish Gupta came onto the London fashion scene with his debut collection in 2001. Since then he has gained respect both on a national and international.


His fusion of Western and Eastern cultures results in an eccentric and unique collection with a mix of sportswear, high octane glamour and breathtaking craftsmanship - beautiful, handcrafted pieces are all manufactured in-house at his workshop/factory in India. This season, Ashish was asked by Tori Amos to design several key outfits for her current world tour. Tori Amos also wore Ashish designs for major promotional material and key television appearances to promote her new album 'American Doll Posse'


Other celebrity fans include Jerry Hall, Victoria Beckham, Madonna, M.I.A, Lily Allen, Kelly Osbourne, and Patrick Wolf.
Ashish also recently collaborated with Topshop on a second ‘Ashish for Topshop’ capsule range.
