By: Spa Adriana Spa Adriana co-founders Adriana and John Vater were at the shows covering new fashion and beauty trends, with Adriana in the front-of-the- “The ‘60s are back! Big hair, fun prints, flowy fabrics and an international flair will be hot this spring,” said Adriana. “Fashion will be very feminine, a perfect compliment to beauty trends which focus on locks that are layered, touchable, filled with movement.” Fashion Trends Easy, natural textures and earthy tones were key in Vera Wang’s collection. Sheer layers were layered with touchable textures. Feminine lapels, lines and shapely skirts flowed down the runway. Zang Toi’s jewel tones mesmerized in vivid midnight blues. Tailored suits cut to fit a woman’s shape were ultra feminine with pinched-in waists, deep V-necks and textured fabrics. Makeup was simple – a nude lip with bright colors painted in thick lines around eyes. Betsy Johnson mixed floral and animal prints to deliver a retro-sexy look -- fun, flirty, with attitude. Side-swiped hair and neon lips complimented metallic accents threaded throughout the collection. Floral prints, lace embroidery and swingy, shorter hems kicked up the excitement of the show. Carolina Herrera’s translucent layered look included geometric beading and patterns in flowing fabrics for an modern vision of ‘60s fashion. Makeup was natural; sheer or matte lips with a little gloss (for just a touch of color) complimented beautifully. Custo Barcelona offered acid rock colors and wild collections of prints that converged of all the season’s trends into one. Metallics were prominent, another nod to the ‘60s. Carlos Miele’s floor-length frocks evoked a Grecian elegance. Structured looks paired with chiffons and sheer fabrics. Watercolor prints washed gowns in bright colors, and mixed with the gold metallics and neutrals we saw last season. Makeup once again was very natural. For men, Perry Ellis offered muted earthy neutrals in classic cuts. Layered browns worked in concert with seafoam blues for an updated beach/sunset look.
