Iberville Parish Jury Awards Victims Of 18-Wheeler Accident Over Driver of Truck Drops Cell Phone

Sept. 23, 2011 - PRLog -- On Thursday an Iberville Parish jury awarded over a million dollars to a Lufkin, Texas family for injuries they sustained in an eighteen wheeler accident in June of 2006 on I-10 near the Gross Tete exit.   The family was traveling from their home in Lufkin, Texas on their way to Gulf Shores, Alabama when they were rear-ended by an eighteen wheeler.  The eighteen wheeler driver admitted that he was inattentive due to dropping his cell phone before striking the plaintiffs’ vehicle.  As a result of the accident, the father of the family suffered a mild traumatic brain injury as well as a neck injury.  Fortunately, the other members of the family received minor injuries; however, they all testified that the accident and injuries to their father has become a mental and emotional strain on their entire family.
