This extended in the later years to shoes, handbags, luggage and leather goods. Since it's launch Prada has managed to open over 250 boutiques all over the world, in places such as London, Paris, Milan, New York and Washington, which all offer the high end fashion branded products to it's welcomed customers whether they be from royalty or someone how is treating themselves.

Prada has a number of high fashion products that range from shoes, handbags, luggage and leather goods as mentioned before, but why do they cost so much? The idea of Prada being a luxury style brand is that not every can be seen with Prada products, if pretty much everyone were able to get their hands on one of their products, the value, status and image would depreciate therefore leading to the brand not being worth  very much at all. You see celebrities who wear these products and some celebrities actually endorse Prada products, which drives the appearance of Prada upwards and increases exposure.

Often you will find that you can buy virtually the same product in normal high street store at affordable prices, so why are people still buying products that are often 10x more than the high street price? Well it's all about image and status, if you see someone carrying a Prada handbag and wearing the latest Prada shoes then you automatically think that that person is doing exceptionally well for themselves in society. The reason why celebrities are paid to purchase Prada products is because people look up to celebrities and so they will do almost anything to look the same as their idols. The materials and how the products are made is a big factor in determining the price, because you will find that the normal high street products will have been made with quite cheap and flimsy materials which is why they cost significantly less than the actual thing, whereas the actual Prada product is made with some of the best materials and is made with a lot of care and attention.
