By: Michael S. Foreman Savvy Consumers trying to avoid being victimized again, have insisted Contractors, Developers, Builders, or who ever corrected or "abated" the house or structure, provide an Insurance Policy or Warranty, that covered the full scope of work or re-work that maybe required, should the corrosion problems or issues associated with Tainted Corrosive "Chinese" Drywall either start to re-occur or actually re-occur. After talking with several Insurance experts concerning existing Policies or Warranties currently available, complex insurance language and terms, I strongly feel any and all policies, based on "completed operations", General Liability coverage, work performed by the Contractor, E&O policies, and numerous other similar type policies or warranties, actually FAIL to provide, and specifically EXCLUDE real or claimable coverage, based on Insurance Professionals detailed reviews and opinions of currently available policies and warranties. Consumers and their lawyers need to seek their own opinion or explanation from an Insurance Professional with the proper credentials ... I did ... an was not only shocked, but convinced, most Professionals have no clue about Insurance coverage, policy language, and guidelines associated with this specific issue ... Tainted Corrosive "Chinese" Drywall ... corrosion, out-gassing, damage, and who is responsible ... Before you sign an abatement, treatment and re-construction contract or agreement, we strongly suggest you seek advice from licensed, Environmental Insurance Experts, and get the facts from the horses mouth, not the Contractor, Consultant, Developer, Hygienist, or Builder to avoid becoming a victim again, and again.
