Cirrus gains BAFE accreditation for fire system maintenance

Oct. 7, 2011 - PRLog -- Leading independent telecare services and fire safety systems provider Cirrus has been awarded British Approvals for Fire Equipment (BAFE) accreditation following an assessment by the British Standards Institute (BSI).  The BAFE SP203 accreditation demonstrates the company’s robust quality management for smoke detector and fire alarm maintenance.

BAFE is an independent third party registration body dedicated to improving standards in fire protection. Their objective is to bring to the marketplace a single registration scheme for each product or service within the fire protection industry, for which third party accreditation has been considered appropriate. BAFE is supported by Government, Statutory Bodies, Fire and Rescue Services, Insurers and the Health and Safety Executive.

The award recognises the provider’s expertise in  fire system maintenance (http://www.cirruscom.co.uk/our_services/fire) and acknowledges the organisations investment in their people and processes. It will give customers added reassurance that their fire safety systems are maintained to a standard recommended by the Chief Fire Officers Association (CFOA).

With the latest fire statistics† showing the highest fatality rates for people aged 80+ this news will be particularly of interest to customers with responsibility for residential developments for the elderly.
