Oct. 4, 2011 - PRLog -- SAN RAMON, CA – Wallbeds are back! These beds, which fold away vertically during the day, used to be just for small inner city apartments but now they are taking over suburbia. Wallbeds are becoming popular in family houses everywhere as people struggle to find space and battle the problem of having either a guest bedroom or a home office. Wallbeds make both possible!

Liz Roller is the woman bringing them back, and she is so passionate about her company, Wallbeds “n” More (http://wallbedsnmore.com/), that she believes her product and business should be available to other potential business owners around the country through franchise opportunities.

Liz sells wallbeds (http://wallbedsnmore.com/wallbeds.html), aka murphy beds or hidden beds, and business is booming. What makes her so successful? Her space saving product is exactly what this economy needs and the appointment only business model ensures that she only sees serious shoppers.

Many people are finding it difficult in the current economy to upgrade to a larger home as their needs grow, or are downsizing and want to make the most of the space that they now have available. Space is at a premium and Liz has the answer to turning one room into two!

Liz discovered her unique product while furniture shopping for her guest bedroom, which she wanted to turn into a home office. A wallbed allowed her to have a home office as well as a guest bed available when necessary – essentially turning her one spare room into two rooms.

“The bed could stay up [during the day] and I worked in the room while my kids played on the floor” explained Liz. “Then when needed, I had a comfortable bed for my parents and guests to sleep in.”

“My second wallbed,” she continues, “was for my son's room - that was once I had the store. It made sense to give him a full size bed that he could put up and down and have all the floor space to build with legos or play games.”

Liz realized that many other families were experiencing the same space problem and her father, a furniture business veteran of 45 years, had the contacts to help her make her dream a reality.

Liz opened a satellite store to her father’s showroom on an appointment basis because she was not only short on space, but also time. As a mother of two children under five, she couldn’t spend all day in the showroom waiting for customers. And appointments worked! Each customer felt unique and experienced a completely personalized shopping experience when they were with Liz.

Within her first year, Liz sold over 100 wallbeds – enough to draw the attention of
the manufacturer who had never seen his wallbeds sell so quickly!

This appointment model has helped with Wallbeds “n” More’s ongoing success. As Liz notes, “most people begin their search for furniture and storage solutions online so that they don’t have to waste hours visiting different furniture stores. Once they have a solution in mind, then they visit the showroom. I was able to qualify my customers and maximize my time. It was risky to turn away foot traffic but necessity required it, and it worked!”

These beds speak for themselves, but they are best when seen, touched and used. “For such a large purchase, you should never order based on a picture from a website,” Liz explains. “We want our customers in the showroom so that they can see the different styles, choose the right finish, get a sense of size and actually use these amazing wallbeds. At home and garden shows, the hidden bed and desk (http://wallbedsnmore.com/hidden-bed.html) frequently stops traffic.”

After Liz opened her first store in Dublin, another store opened in Campbell and then Stockton. Since then, Wallbeds “n” More has experienced continual growth and now has 12 showrooms open throughout California and Arizona.

Wallbeds “n” More registered as a franchise in early 2011 and now has three levels of opportunities available nationwide: ownership of regional or state territories, individual showroom locations and store-in-a-store locations for those who already run a compatible business and would like to include wallbeds in their current showroom.

Liz’s business is completely wallbed focused and specializes in offering the best space saving solutions, with the largest display of wallbeds in California and Arizona.

The line currently features 17 wallbed styles with custom and semi-custom options available to create unique living areas.

Recently, Liz moved her flagship San Ramon store to a much larger location where it will also serve as a showroom and corporate training center.
