Watermere at Southlake Says Aloha to Summer with Hawaiian Luau

Oct. 7, 2011 - PRLog -- Watermere at Southlake, a master-planned development for homeowners age 55 plus, recently hosted a Hawaiian luau for homeowners and guests to officially say goodbye to summer.  The evening included colorful Hawaiian decorations, music, cocktails, and a hula dancer that entertained the crowd for hours.

“We love having our homeowners come together for fun, social events, and this luau was no exception,” said Gloria Powell, community life director, Watermere at Southlake. “The hula dancer was so animated and had both men and women up hula dancing. She also taught everyone Hawaiian words and customs. It was a fantastic time!”

The homeowners came decked out wearing bright, tropical clothing and leis, ready to enjoy a night in paradise. Hula dancer, Edrienne Leolani Edwards, was born and raised in Kauai and is also the former Mrs. USA and Mrs. Texas of 1994. She shared her expertise and dancing skills with the homeowners, even calling them up to dance with her! The music and dancing, with the leadership of Edrienne, was the perfect way to say goodbye to summer.
