Oct. 11, 2011 - PRLog -- Turner Construction Company announces the completion of a six-floor office interior renovation project for a leading professional services organization. The project team is currently seeking LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold status for this 150,000 square foot office space.

Beginning with the schematic design phase of the project and continuing through the completion of the project, Turner worked closely with the architect Gensler to ensure that the design, budget and construction met the client’s expectations all while ensuring that the USGBC’s requirements for LEED certification were met.

“Turner provided critical preconstruction services throughout the planning and design phase,” said Damion Pourciau, sr. project manager Turner Construction Company’s interiors division.  “This helped to ensure that the design and budget were in-line and that the materials selected would qualify the project for LEED certification.”

The project was a three-phased project. Phase one included the preconstruction and construction of the two floors of swing space for the client to temporarily move in while the renovation of the office was underway.  Phase two included the complete demolition and build-back of four floors, featuring new offices, critical power and communication distribution, conference rooms, restrooms, training rooms, a reception area and catering facilities.  The final phase included complete demolition and build-back of two floors including offices, conference rooms, restrooms and break areas.

“It is a common misconception that Turner only does large scale, ground-up projects,” says Abrar Sheriff, vice president and general manager for Turner Construction Company.  “However, our extensive experience in high-end interior finish-outs is the reason clients select us to help plan and manage this type of complex project,” Sheriff added.
