By: Robert Scharf - Protokraft, LLC Protokraft introduced the EXCALIBUR series dual port (4xfiber) 10 Gigabit Ethernet optical transponders with D38999 fiber optic connector interfaces for military, aerospace, petrochemical, mining, industrial or utility applications where significant levels of shock, vibration and extreme temperature ranges are experienced. These components are designed for use in applications where small size, weight reduction and resistance to dirt, dust and other contaminants are highly valued. These units are particularly well suited to VPX / VITA 46.21 applications where the XAUI protocol is widely used as a backplane interface. EXCALIBUR series dual port, panel mounted 10 Gigabit Ethernet optical transponders enable high speed communications in harsh environments. *Civil and military vehicle networking *10Gigabit Ethernet network switches, NIC's and many other applications *Data communication links up to 20Gbps in one connector The MIL-DTL-38999 Series III shell provides a sealed interface that is water-tight to MIL-STD-810 when mated. EXCALIBUR series dual port (4xfiber) optoelectronic transponders are vibration isolated, environmentally hardened components designed for use in harsh environment applications. *Panel mounted D38999 interface sealed against liquid and solid contaminants *Shock and vibration resistant FEATURES *2x XAUI to 10GBase-SR transponder ports in a rugged metal housing with D38999 interface *D38999 Size 17-08 shell with 4x Mil-T-29504/ *Compact size and light weight # # # Protokraft designs and manufactures high-speed optoelectronic components and subsystems for use in harsh environment networking equipment applications.
