Oct. 15, 2011 - PRLog -- The 2011 version of the Ti-Bridge Tourbillon appears adorned in 689 diamonds totaling 8.64 carats! This radiant splendor dramatically highlights the fabulous baguette movement which, suspended by its cross-bars, appears to be floating weightlessly in the center of the red gold tonneau-shaped case. The effect is further accentuated by the flying tourbillon which, in the absence of an upper bridge, looks as if it is levitating above the movement.

A daringly contemporary expression of the Corum baguette movement, the first Ti-Bridge presented in 2009 already created a sensation. The 2010 version of this model with its flying tourbillon and its titanium case then took the brand’s technical expertise to a new pinnacle of achievement. In 2011, the Ti-Bridge Tourbillon stages a stunning encounter between Haute Horlogerie and Haute Joaillerie. No less than 689 brilliant-cut diamonds (8.64cts) pave the case, 18K red gold dial and the caseband, forming a gemstone river that highlights the extraordinary mechanism that is completely unveiled.

A futuristic material

The CO 022 baguette caliber of the Ti-Bridge Tourbillon was designed, developed and produced in-house by the Corum teams. Equipped with a flying tourbillon that has no upper bridge and thus seems to be floating over the movement, its escapement beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour. This mechanical hand-wound movement is endowed with a 72-hour power reserve.

Caliber CO 022, which represents an aesthetic and technical feat, has a mainplate and bridges made from ARCAP, as too is the inner bezel ring – that is treated to a gold finish. This new alloy made of copper and nickel is completely non-magnetic, anti-corrosive and enables complex finishing operations. Although a resolutely futuristic material, it may be adorned with traditional decorations such as satin-finishing and chamfering, creating effects that make a fine contrast with the “sunray-brushed” decoration of the two barrels.

A spectacular effect

The overall mechanism is held in place by a feature that has become an integral part of the unique Ti-Bridge style signature: cross-bars that secure the movement firmly in the center of the case. Also made from gold-treated ARCAP, they help to create a truly spectacular weightless effect.
The generously sized 42.5 mm by 52.3 mm tonneau-shaped case is water-resistant to a depth of 30 meters. Crafted from red gold and entirely set with sparkling gems, its ample proportions give pride of place to the caliber and its constantly moving tourbillon that are visible from all sides, including through the case-back. This version of the Ti-Bridge Tourbillon is available in an ultra-limited 25-piece edition. It is delivered with two straps: one in hand-sewn crocodile leather, the other in crocodile leather, and both equipped with an 18K red gold folding clasp.
