Oct. 17, 2011 - PRLog -- GREER, SC – North American Rescue (NAR) and Fayetteville, NC’s Grey Group joined forces to provide a two-day First Responder’s Course instructed by NAR’s cadre of former Army Ranger and Special Operations Medics. The intensive course program consisted of didactic instructional overview of Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) based principles followed by hands-on practical exercises structured from the Care Under Fire and Tactical Field Care phases of treatment in accordance with TCCC standards.

Students were placed in a simulated triage and casualty scenario where they were required to utilize their newly learned critical skills to mitigate preventable death in a tactical field environment. The curriculum provided each student with the tools and training necessary to successfully assess and provide pre-hospital battlefield care by utilizing standard medical items in an operator’s kit. Treatments required use of equipment including tourniquets, pressure dressings, hemostatic dressings, needle decompression devices, and occlusive chest seals.

“I have wanted to take a medical class for a long time and I don’t think I could have picked a better one than this,” stated one of the students in a recent online post. “I highly recommend North American Rescue if you are looking for this type of training. Grey Group, as usual, did a great job putting it together.”

“North American Rescue is honored to work with a training organization of Grey Group’s caliber,” stated Senior Vice President Joanne Walter. “We recognize the importance of operator training in First Responder protocols that address both the comprehension of techniques and the muscle memory of repeated execution. You do what you train.”
