Oct. 20, 2011 - PRLog -- Check out new approaches for learning and up-and-coming technologies and techniques that will shape corporate training during the LTMS “Experiential Projects” Day at Harrisburg University on Thursday, December 8 from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m.

This free HU Employee Learning Week (Dec. 5-9) event includes speakers on corporate training and learning as well as LTMS students showcasing research and techniques.  Ideal for educators, corporate trainers and HR representatives.  

Sponsored by The American Society for Training & Development (ASTD), Employee Learning Week is an awareness campaign highlighting the important connection between learning and achieving organizational results. Training is more important now than ever before. The growing skills gap and the increased need to compete in today’s economy require organizations to develop a knowledgeable and highly skilled workforce.

This free event at Harrisburg University recognizes the value of learning and the important link between a knowledgeable, highly skilled workforce and organizational success.  The importance of that link is a key element of Harrisburg University’s Learning Technologies Master of Science program, which explores new approaches to work as well as the use of technology to integrate and develop new ways of learning and assessing learning, as well as exploring new approaches to work.  

The LTMS program is the only one of its kind in Central Pennsylvania.  The degree is a blend of theory and practice which develops skills that can be applied to complex education and training issues. It is a 36-semester credit hour program which provides students with the leading edge approaches and skills to help understand and integrate existing and emerging learning technologies into a variety of learning environments.

You can literally take planes, trains and automobiles to the event.  The University’s location at 326 Market Street in downtown Harrisburg is near Interstates 83 and 81 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike, making it an easy drive to the University from any of Pennsylvania’s major cities. And it’s only a two-hour drive from the University to Baltimore, Washington, DC or Philadelphia. The Amtrak Passenger Train Station and Greyhound Bus Station are one block from our location.
