Oct. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- Activate Good's third annual Couture for a Cause fashion show will be held on Friday, October 21, 2011 at Marbles Kids Museum, located in downtown Raleigh. The event begins at 8:00 PM and doors open at 7:30 PM.

Tickets will be available at the door for $25.

Couture for a Cause is a fun fashion show that highlights participating nonprofit partners and raises funds to benefit Activate Good and support Activate Good’s efforts to inspire and facilitate volunteerism with area causes and nonprofits. The show will pair Activate Good nonprofit partners with local designers who will create ready to wear and couture outfits that embody the mission and spirit of the nonprofit they are paired with. The designer(s) whose outfit(s) best capture the essence of their organization according to a judges’ panel will receive a cash prize. Visit the Couture for a Cause page on http://activategood.org to learn more about the designers and nonprofits featured in this year’s show.

Maggie Alexander, news reporter from NBC-17, is this year's emcee. Many people around the Triangle wake up to Maggie’s news reports that cover everything from education, to politics, to breaking news.

This year’s Couture for a Cause is slated to be the biggest and best ever. In addition to the runway show, the event will feature sponsor booths, a fun photo booth, a Hollywood style step and repeat photo shoot at the entrance, food, a cash bar, silent auction, and a live auction of the outfits.

“We are very excited about this year’s Couture for a Cause. Last year’s show was a big hit and raised a lot of awareness about local causes while raising funds for our efforts to promote volunteerism. I encourage people to purchase tickets ahead of time to ensure they have a spot at the event.” said Amber Smith, president of Activate Good.
