Totaro & Associates Celebrates 1 Year In Business

Oct. 27, 2011 - PRLog -- Totaro & Associates began on October 27th 2010 serving one client in the renewable energy sector.  Now 12 months and eight clients later, we have many reasons to be thankful.

Our revenue targets were in-line with expectations and we currently operate with a net profit and no corporate debt.

We have worked with clients to pursue pioneering patents on new technologies that have the potential to be game-changing in their respective industries.

Our work on the US horizontal-axis, utility-scale wind turbine patent landscape has led to the analysis of over 2100 US patents and 1800 pending applications and determination of several future technology trends within the industry.  The synopsis of the report we developed was re-published in the May 2011 issue of Windpower Engineering, the April/May issue of Windtech International as well as online by Greentech Media, and the Green Patent Blog.

There have also been topical articles on renewable energy technology looking at generator design and the dependency on rare earth elements, General Electric’s acquisition of Converteam, the state of the US wind sector, the AMSC / Sinovel trade secret dispute, GE Energy Finance investments in R&D companies, and the Winergy Hybriddrive product launch at AWEA this year.  As thought leaders in intellectual property, we have published other articles and whitepapers on managing intellectual property, such as IP Issues within the Supply Chain and Valuation of IP Assets.

Partnerships with law firms have been established to offer clients a full complement of services around intellectual property protection in the renewable energy sector.  We continue to offer services around capturing and analyzing industry competitive intelligence, technology planning and funding justification for R&D projects with OEMs, brainstorming and capturing new ideas, performing prior art search and patentability assessment on those new ideas, and conducting freedom to operate / product clearance searches for the introduction of new products.
