Oct. 28, 2011 - PRLog -- Criminals who burglarize homes are looking for easy access to your hard earned money and valuables.  There is no worse feeling of vulnerability than coming home to find your house ramsacked and the things you cherish gone.  A preferred method of entry for thieves is the window, because all you need to do is break the glass and you are in.  But what if the glass doesn't break?

Laminated security glass consists of 2 or more panes of glass held together by a pvb laminate sandwiched between the glass.  What this does is prevent the glass from shattering when struck with a blunt object.  In fact an intruder would literally have to dig through the laminated glass to create an opening large enough to reach into. This would take a considerable amount of time and physical effort.   Most  criminals do not posess a level of determination that will cause them to stay and physically work to break in.

Another method of entry via the windows is to open the lock and avoid breaking glass.  Most windows have a lever type lock and maybe the clamp type locks as an added safety.
European style tilt & turn windows have cam locks which extend around the perimeter of the window frame.  The only way to disengage the cam locks (minimum 7 in an A3 level window) is by turning the handle from the inside.  The multi-point locking mechanism makes it impossible for the window to be opened from the exterior.

What are the other methods of securing the windows?   Wrought iron bars are a solution, but the drawback is not everybody is keen on obstructing the view and the feeling of prison that seeing bars invokes.
Alarm systems work well but are prone to electric failure and slow response times.  An alarm coupled with a barrier such that a security window creates is ideal.

Purchasing new windows for your home or deciding which windows to put in your new construction is a major decision and costly investment.  SwissShade + Security's window solutions add European style and elegance while increasing your property value and, coupled with laminated security glass, will give you peace of mind knowing that your family and property is safe.  Please vists http://www.swissshade.com/ for more information or e-mail us at sales@swissshade.com.
