Follow on Google News | Excel High School Regionally Accredited by AdvancED, NCA CASI and SACS CASIThe school spent the better part of 2011 preparing the school and staff to meet and exceed the 7-standards for Regional Accreditation, as prescribed by AdvancED; which are: Vision and Purpose, Governance and Leadership, Teaching and Learning, Documenting and Using Results, Resources and Support Systems, Stakeholder Communications and Relationships and Commitment to Continuous Improvement. It was clear during the onsite accreditation review that Excel High School had done a superb job attaining the operating levels required to achieve Regional accreditation. Excel High School was really given an opportunity to “show off” the many great aspects of the school. Regional accreditation is highly sought after, and only colleges and schools that achieve the highest operating standards are granted this high level of accreditation. Under the leadership and direction of Mr. Rod Clarkson, CEO, and Mr. Mark Ulven, Executive Director, the school was able to achieve accreditation during onsite review held during the week of October 24th through the 28th, 2011. AdvancED is the unified organization of the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI). AdvancED provides nationally recognized accreditation for school districts and individual schools and represents 27,000 public and private schools and districts across the United States and in 65 countries worldwide, educating 15 million students. Accreditation through AdvancED is a rigorous process that demonstrates to our students, parents, and stakeholders that he school is highly focused on student achievement, maintaining effective school operations, providing an exciting learning environment, and adequately preparing students for postsecondary education, the Military and the marketplace . Mark Ulven, Excel’s Executive Director, was quoted in saying “We believe strongly that the AdvancED Accreditation will make us even better!” Students succeed when the high school commits to examining all of its processes and systems to determine what more we do to benefit the students we serve.
