COLMEK Begins NEW RF Conditioning Project for the NAVY’S ROTHR ProgramCustom Engineering Effort will Significantly Enhance Performance and Expansion Capability
By: COLMEK Nov. 1, 2011 - PRLog -- Salt Lake City, UT – Colmek today announced a $1M+ USD sub-contract award received from Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) for engineering services and hardware development associated with the AN/TPS-71 Relocatable Over The Horizon RADAR (ROTHR) program.
During this contract period Colmek will develop the core front-end signal conditioner. In order to achieve a precise system specification Raytheon IDS has directed Colmek to produce engineered hardware not available off the shelf; the Utah based engineering firm responded to this need with a plan to meet the custom requirements and associated timelines. The Relocatable Over-the-Horizon RADAR (ROTHR) is a proven long range surveillance radar in service with the U.S. Government, deployed to detect and track aircraft and ship targets at ranges to 2,500 nautical miles.
