Frisco Women’s League presents Merry Marketplace 2011

Nov. 2, 2011 - PRLog -- Frisco Women’s League, proudly presents the 2nd annual Merry Marketplace, which opens on November 18, 2011 and continues November 19, 2011.  By popular demand, this annual event was extended an additional day this year.  Merry Marketplace is a shopping extravaganza, located at the Frisco Discovery Center at 8004 Dallas Parkway, in Frisco, Texas and will benefit Frisco Arts and the Sci-Tech Discovery Center.

This event, in addition to the popular family-friendly entertainment from local schools and photos with Santa, introduces an exclusive Ladies Brunch.  The brunch provides an opportunity for serious shoppers to preview from over 50 vendors before the event is open to the public and it also includes a silent auction.

The market hours for the general public will be open on Friday November 18, 1:00 – 7:00 PM and Saturday, November 19, 9:00 – 5:00 PM.  There will be a $5.00 entry fee that is good for both days of shopping which also applies to enter the raffle.

The Ladies Brunch Exclusive preview party is from 10:00 – 1:00PM on Friday, November, 18.  The brunch will be catered by Margaux’s Restaurant, and includes cocktails while you shop in an upscale buffet-style format with menu items such as salmon, chicken and asparagus crepes with Bechamel sauce, fruit, decadent dessert and more.

Over 800 people attended the 2010 Merry Marketplace, which was the motivation for expanding this year’s event.  Last year’s beneficiary of the Frisco Women’s League sponsored event was the Frisco Family Services Center.
“Come shop for a cause as we prepare for the holidays and also enjoy a girls outing during the Ladies Brunch”, said Lisa Statzer, President of the Frisco Women’s League, who anticipates this event getting bigger each year with potential to become one of the premier market events in the Dallas area. “We are delighted to help Frisco Arts and the Sci-Tech Discover Center,” said Statzer, “we should be able to raise a lot of money for these organizations while shoppers have a pleasurable experience and find some great buys too.”

Funds received from the Frisco Women's League will be used to provide our signature Mind-Stretching Fun both in the museum and through community outreach,” explains Erica Yaeger, Sci-Tech Discovery Center Executive Director. "Sci-Tech depends on partners like the FWL to help us inspire a new generation of scientists, engineers, innovators and educators."
