West Palm Beach’s Carpenter’s Roofing & Sheet Metal Hires Former President of Ray Roofing Co.

Nov. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- Carpenter’s Roofing & Sheet Metal, Inc.—South Florida’s oldest roofing and architectural sheet metal contractor—has announced that Richard Pepin, former owner and president of Ray Roofing Co., will be joining the company. This move takes place after Ray Roofing, a direct competitor of Carpenter’s, closed its doors in August. Pepin brings with him a wealth of industry experience, having been with the 53-year-old Ray Roofing since 1973, and will contribute to Carpenter’s in a number of areas, including sales and estimating.

“There’s a synergy that occurs when contemporaries join forces like this,” says the modest 60-year-old Pepin, who has a number of industry awards and association leadership roles to his credit. “This is an exciting time for me professionally. I’m looking forward to the challenges that lay ahead. Carpenter’s sets the bar at a very high level.”

According to Carpenter’s, however, Pepin is being brought aboard because his high degree of professionalism and numerous areas of expertise, together with Carpenter’s 80 years in the business, is expected to raise the bar even higher. President of Carpenter’s Roofing & Sheet Metal, Jason Lovelady, says he anticipates the addition of Pepin will increase business as much as 15 to 20 percent.

Pepin’s impressive resume includes president of the Palm Beach County Roofing Association, 1977 and 1985; president of the Florida Roofing & Sheet Metal Contractors’ Association (FRSA), 1990; and chairman of the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board, 1998. His industry recognitions include the 1999 Bob Campanella Memorial Award, FRSA's highest honor, awarded for exceptional service to both the association and the industry; and the 2003 Jim Carr Lifetime Achievement Award.
 
“Ray Roofing Co. was an exceptional roofing contractor and a very worthy competitor of Carpenter’s that we all respected,” Lovelady says. “When the company shut its doors this year, the industry suffered a great loss. So, needless to say, we’re all quite honored that Richard agreed to come work with us. He’ll no doubt prove to be a tremendous member of the Carpenter’s team.”

According to Vice President of Carpenter’s Roofing & Sheet Metal, Joe Hart, a close colleague and admirer of Pepin for 33 years, the addition is a tremendous coup for Carpenter’s.
