Nov. 9, 2011 - PRLog -- Author Versandra Kennebrew invites you to the launch of her new self-help book “The Art of Reinventing You: Ignite your imagination.”  This red carpet event will take place at the Virgil Carr Cultural Arts Center, 311 E. In association with the Essence of Motown Literary Jam and Conference, Kennebrew will continue the celebration of her second book release on Saturday from 8a – 3p, at the Carr Center. Not only will she read from her new book, she will facilitate a social media workshop for authors who want to increase on-line sales by using social networks like Facebook, Twitter and Google+.

After a 23 year career in retail Versandra Kennebrew  reinvented herself and became a holistic health professional so she could provide her clients with holistic options for health and enhanced well-being. After more than a decade in the health industry, once again, she reinvented herself. She attended Wayne County Community College District, an over forty year old student to become a self-improvement teacher.

Kennebrew has touched the lives of thousands as a massage therapist, workshop facilitator, teacher and speaker. She hopes her most recent book “The Art of Reinventing You,” which gives insight to the transformational coaching experience she has developed, will empower people around the world to ignite their imagination and discover the art of reinventing themselves.

When this self-proclaimed life changer is not writing or teaching she volunteers as a Community Service Commissioner for the City of Detroit Department of Human Services and as a Winning Futures Mentor at Cass Technical High School. She also enjoys traveling and listening to live jazz.

The Detroit City Council has honored this true community servant with the Spirit of Detroit Award, Distinguished Service Award and Testimonial Resolutions for her leadership and involvement in National Hunger and Homeless Awareness Week and C.A.M.P. Lifesavers, a community health expo and workshops she sponsored to introduce Metro Detroit residents to the benefits of complementary and alternative medicine practitioners.
