After surfacing in 2000 with the breakthrough single "Yellow," Coldplay quickly became one of the biggest rock bands of the new millennium, a mix of introspective Brit-pop and anthemic rock that landed the British quartet a near-permanent residence on record charts worldwide. The group's emergence was perfectly timed; Radiohead had just released the overly cerebral Kid A, while Oasis had ditched two founding members and embraced psychedelic experimentation on Standing on the Shoulder of Giants. U.K. audiences were hungry for a fresh-faced rock band with big aspirations and an even bigger sound, and Coldplay were more than happy to take the reins.
They have won a number of music awards throughout their career, including six Brit Awards — winning Best British Group three times, four MTV Video Music Awards, and seven Grammy Awards from twenty nominations. As one of the world's best-selling music artists, Coldplay have sold over 50 million records worldwide. Coldplay tickets have raised funds for various social and political causes, such as Oxfam's Make Trade Fair campaign and Amnesty International. On 24 October 2011, they released their fifth studio album, Mylo Xyloto. Mylo Xyloto moved more than 447,000 copies in its first week on the charts. The group has referred to Mylo Xyloto - which features a cameo from Rihanna on “princess of China”- as "schizophrenic" thanks to the wide range of sounds it explores. Coldplay's recently released fifth album, Mylo Xyloto, hit the top of the charts in the UK and America.
Coldplay 2012 tickets have gone on sale on their announced tour. The band will play five dates, beginning at Coventry's Ricoh Stadium, before moving to London for two shows and finishing off in Sunderland and Manchester. Tickets go on sale on the 18th of November, with European and North American dates expected to follow shortly. We're very pleased to announce that Coldplay will play five UK stadium shows in summer 2012.

Tickets, costing from £49.50, go on sale at 9am on Friday, 18 November.
