Works from Two Raleigh Artists Now on Display at Lennar's Inside Wade

Nov. 15, 2011 - PRLog -- Lennar has recently introduced a wide variety of spectacular homes at Inside Wade near downtown Raleigh, and the builder chose to add additional visual impact by engaging local artists to create sculptures for the community’s two main traffic circles.  Matt McConnell’s Wind and Mike Roig’s What in the Whirled are now on display at Inside Wade.

Both Wind and What in the Whirled are constructed of silver metal, allowing the structures to stand out in stark contrast to the green grass, lush landscaping and black paved streets that surround them.  McConnell’s Wind is featured in Inside Wade’s main traffic circle and is a focal point as visitors first enter the community.  Standing nearly nine feet tall, Roig’s What in the Whirled rotates continuously to make it appear like a whirling flame.  

“With numerous communities as well as the company’s Division office located in the greater Raleigh area, Lennar has very strong ties to the community, and we felt it was only fitting to feature local artists in this space,” said Lennar Raleigh Division President Trish Hanchette.  “We selected Wind and What in the Whirled because, in addition to their similarities in the medium of metallic sculpture, both pieces offer a balance of strong and soft elements that merge to mirror the home styles designed for Inside Wade.”  

Along with seeing Wind and What in the World, visitors to Inside Wade can tour seven different architecturally designed and professionally decorated models.  These seven model homes represent only a few of the 24 plans offered at Inside Wade, where townhomes and single-family homes are priced from the $100s to the $400s.  In addition to plenty of nearby activities from shopping and dining to games at Carter-Finley Stadium and the RBC Center, Inside Wade also features its own amenities, including an adult pool with ample decking, a splash pool for the kids and a clubhouse with deluxe interior and outdoor gathering space.
