Cal Spas Embraces CEC Testing, Sets Record with 45 CEC Compliant Hot Tubs

Nov. 17, 2011 - PRLog -- POMONA, Calif., September 18, 2008 — Cal Spas announced today it has set an industry record for California Energy Commission (CEC) compliance—with 45 hot tub models registered as compliant with CEC standards, Cal Spas holds the record for the highest number of compliant hot tubs from one manufacturer and brand.

Cal Spas hot tubs represent 18 percent of all spas on the CEC compliance list today.  California’s stringent energy standards, known as Title 20, went into effect on January 1, 2006.  The standards regulate portable electric spa energy use particularly when the spa is unoccupied and on standby mode.  Greater efficiency while hot tubs are on standby mode results in significant savings for the owner.
