The DeLeon Group adds to Mideast portfolio by partnering with premier water technology provider. The DeLeon Group, trusted adviser to companies operating in the Middle East, is pleased to announce that we will be representing Water Resources Group, Ltd. (ASX-WRG) in the region.
By: Natasha Nikitin "At The DeLeon Group, Inc. we are excited about these new plants because we see them as a cost effective and environmentally friendly solution to constraints on water available for farming and consumption to the growing populations of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and UAE", said Luke Sestito, President of The DeLeon Group, Inc. The company's initial product, Advanced Seawater Reverse Osmosis (“ASWRO”) Desalination Plant incorporates the Company’s breakthrough technology, the Plasma Chemical Reactor (“PCR”) that produces ozone from ambient air for pre-treatment of water, in place of chemicals. It also uses less energy than traditional desalination plants. This means water being produced at a cost of about 30 percent less than traditional thermal and RO systems. More importantly, because there are no chemicals added and instead ozone is used, the operating costs of the plant remain low year after year. The WRG systems can be set up and functioning in under 10 months. With the ability to be shipped in containers and assembled on site, the plants can be built on a small scale and provide water to a small community, an industrial city, resort or even a golf course. The initial plant size can produce from 4,000 to 10,000 cu mts of water per day and can be expanded up to about 60,000 cu mts as the community requires. The special drilling techniques used by WRG to create the water intake, and the methods used to return the unprocessed water to the sea result in less damage to the environment, and do not create “dead zones” for fish and plant life in the sea around the plant. “We visited a WRG system in California, USA because we hope to use it in conjunction with our Aerofarms farm in Jeddah (KSA)”, said Sestito, who also represents Aerofarms aeroponic farms in the region. “The facilities were impressive because of their flexibility - they can start out at a modest size and be expanded as a farm or community requires. During our meeting we were asked by WRG to work with them in the region to identify investors, joint venture partners, and operating partners. We're very excited to work with WRG, as we believe their to be a real need for this new technology in the region and can offer an alternative to the large desalination plants that contaminate the environment and use chemicals in the desalination process."
