Nov. 20, 2011 - PRLog -- “People who have near-death experiences seem to make the best Ghost Chasers,” revealed Emily Hill, author of “Ghost Stories and Tales of Terror”, available on Amazon Kindle and Barnes & Noble Nook.

“My mother and I are perfect examples of the countless number of individuals who experience spirit sightings who have come close to death in their early life,” she goes on.
“Ghost Stories and Tales of Terror” is Book Two in Ms. Hill’s ‘Suspense and Horror’ book series.  The author’s personal experiences with ghost sightings are featured in Book One, “Ghost Stories and The Unexplained”.

In explaining her theory, Ms. Hill cites the experiences of herself and her mother.  Ms. Hill’s mother, Doris Ruth, contracted malaria as a young girl living on Turkey Creek Farm in Southern Ohio.  “My mother often told stories about how close she was to death during that time, in 1932.  Her grandmother had set up a ‘sick bed’ for her in the parlor of the depression-era farm house.”  The author tells of Doris Ruth laying for days on end, and as she put it to her children, “I felt like I was being tugged by my relatives who were alive and caring for me; but I also could see my relatives who were beckoning me at the end of the most blindingly bright tunnel  would imagine.”  Doris Ruth would go on in recalling that period of her life, “After that I always felt the presence of ancestors, as though they were close, on just the ‘other side’ of death’s door.”

Her daughter, author Emily Hill, had a similar experience.  At two years old she contracted polio and was so close to death she was given last rites by the Catholic church.  Ms. Hill explained in an interview with A.V. Harrison Publishing that she and her mother continued their close affinity with the spirit world throughout their lives.  “My mother died in 2001 – three weeks before 911.  Within days of her death my brother, who is very scientific and not prone to intrusions from The Other Realm, experienced his first orb sighting.  Intuition convinced him that it was a spirit signal from our mother.”  Although more than ten years have passed, the  author notes, "until I published my own experiences with ghost sightings, I never heard about his."

Nicole Leader, in her 2006 research study, acknowledges the element of near-death experiences and their link to ghost sightings.

A.V. Harrison Publishing will publish Book Three of the ‘Suspense and Horror’ series Spring 2012.  Visit http://www.avharrison-publishing.com/?page_id=79 for details.
