Innovative Wireless SAW Sensors Awarded

Dec. 16, 2011 - PRLog -- Now well-known SAW technology is used by SENSeOR for conceiving wireless and totally passive sensors, very robust, environment-friendly and operating even in harsh environments.

Those sensors for example provide new measurement solutions for smart-grid components, remote control like electric equipment temperature monitoring (inside generators, wind turbines, switchgears, on high voltage lines) or even appliances thermal management.

Those major topics were at the heart of the “Smart cities & Smart-grid” workshop held in France December 6th (Marseille, Provence), at the initiative of FEDER (European funding organization), PACA Region (Provence – Alpes – Côte d’Azur), French Clusters and Associations (Pôle SCS/ICT, Arcsis, MedInSoft, MobiSmart, SAME, Telecom Valley).

During the closing ceremony of this event, SENSeOR was awarded the “most disruptive innovation” prize for its breakthrough wireless SAW sensors at the 4th French contest promoting ITC innovation in the PACA region.

Indeed, SENSeOR’s wireless SAW sensors often perform measurements impossible to achieve with other sensors.

As they are maintenance-free, cable-free, battery-free, they feature infinite autonomy and can be placed anywhere, even on rotating or moving equipment (on the rotor of a motor for temperature or torque measurement, inside tunnel industrial ovens) and in inaccessible areas like in underground pipes for temperature and strain monitoring, or inside tunnel concrete structure for strain measurements for instance.

The major benefits thanks to all these new measurement applications: safety, energy efficiency and productivity improvements.
