Derwent Edge - The New Video Goes Live. Peak District TV Celebrates Winter On The Moors

Dec. 23, 2011 - PRLog -- Five minutes of drama unfold before our eyes as Terrybnd, Peak District TV's resident camera man works his magic on Derwent Edge in the famous national park.  The suspense draws us in from the beginning, as we watch the stunning shot of the sun rising in the distance - the music building as we anticipate what's to come next. The eerie shapes of the contorted rocks are silhouetted against the skyline, as the camera pans out to see the moor and its sentinels of grit stone standing guard. The layers of mist in varied shades of amber make the Peak District come alive with warmth - and yet this is Winter 2011 in a very barren landscape.

The next superb shot confirms the season, with the white covered hills and crags overlooking the glorious scenery of the dales and the Ladybower reservoir down below. The viewer could be forgiven for thinking they are in the Lake District with the huge expanse of water and then the rocks appear on screen once again and the mists roll eerily in across the moor.

A lone winter hare jumps through the tangled undergrowth of the moor, its clothes not yet turned fully white. The famous rocks of Derwent Edge are in the background and we see a lone grouse foraging through the white crusted heather. The shots if the fauna breathes life into the winter scene and we see the dangers the moor could make for the lonesome rambler. The height is revealed as we look down into the valley bottom where the land is still green, before rising to the dizzy heights of the edge and the winter sets in once again.
