Follow on Google News | Grayhill Achieves AS9100 Rev. C CertificationGrayhill Inc. is pleased to announce its certification to SAE AS9100 Revision C Quality Management System (QMS) for aviation, space and defense organizations.
By: Grayhill, Inc. The AS9100 quality standard is based on ISO 9001, adding stringent requirements specific to the aviation, space and defense industry. Among other changes, revision C brings the standard in line with ISO9001:2008 and expands the scope of coverage to include land and sea based systems for defense applications. "Grayhill has always been diligent about its quality management systems and was one of the first electromechanical manufacturers to achieve ISO 9001 in 1992," said Mr. Keith Hansen, Grayhill's Vice President of Global Quality. "We are now one of the first human interface companies to accomplish the AS9100 certification to the newest Revision C." Grayhill has implemented and demonstrated many upgrades to its ISO 9001:2008 certification in order to achieve this new AS9100C standard. These include: - Improved control of records for traceability - Improved inspection, SPC, and testing - Risk analysis systems - Improved configuration management - First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102 - Process validation procedures - Counterfeit part inspections at Incoming QC - Foreign object detection and elimination - Sales Order flow down reviews The certification encompasses both United States manufacturing locations in La Grange, IL and Carpentersville, IL. Grayhill facilities are now registered in the Online Aerospace Supplier Information System (OASIS). The company’s OASIS Identification Numbers (OIN) are 6132368821 and 6133550764. The certifying body, Bureau Veritas, completed the AS9100 audit to Revision C in October of 2011. Bureau Veritas awarded the certificate in December after final ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB) review.
