Wedding open day at Legacy Boship Farm

Jan. 11, 2012 - PRLog -- The first wedding open day at a hotel near Hailsham for two years proved to be a success – with a local couple booking their reception for 2014.

The Legacy Boship Farm Hotel, which has been run by leading UK-wide operators and management company Legacy Hotels and Resorts since the summer, held a wedding extravaganza for the first time since November 2010.

Around 40 brides-to-be and their fiancées were taken on tours of the three–star venue by the hotel’s experienced staff as well as having the chance to talk to florists, photographers, cake makers and DJs.

Natasha Mehra, conference and revenue manager at the Legacy Boship Farm Hotel, organised the big day and she was delighted with the response.

“We decided to re-introduce a wedding open day to showcase our facilities because it is the best possible way of giving couples the chance to look round the hotel as well as see our landscaped gardens which are perfect for photos,” she said.

“In 2012 we have 18 weddings confirmed so far with Saturdays in July, August and September proving the most popular along with the bank holidays since we have an extra bank holiday in June this year due to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

“At the wedding open day we had one local couple book on the day for 2014 – which is the furthest away wedding we have confirmed at the moment.

“The lead in times for weddings is generally getting shorter because couples are tending to have smaller groups due to these cash conscious times.

“The wedding open day proved to be an ideal time for couples who have already booked their wedding at the hotel or are still undecided on their location to come along and see the function rooms set-up in their full glory as well as have a look at the honeymoon suite because we are licensed to hold traditional and civil ceremonies as well as host receptions.

“There was also a stand by our sister hotel in East Sussex, the Legacy White Hart Hotel, so if a date that a couple had set their heart on had already been taken here they could arrange an appointment to have a look round the Lewes venue.

“We spent four months planning the wedding open day and we will definitely be holding another in the near future.”
