Jan. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- On January 23rd, the Chinese New Year is celebrated and we enter into the year of the dragon.  Multicultural children’s performer, Daria (Daria Marmaluk-Hajioannou) has created a series of free resources for parents and teachers interested in learning more about this wonderful celebration and finding ways they can enjoy this holiday with their kids.

This month DARIA’s free song page features a wonderful craft where kids can make their own Chinese-style gong out of recycled materials along with articles about the symbolism of the dragon and the year of the dragon.  There’s also a wonderful post from popular Mandarin teacher; Amanda “Miss Panda”, sharing her childhood memories of Chinese New Year and her thoughts on celebrating with her family now.  Finally, there’s also a contest where you can sign up for Daria’s free e-newsletter and be entered to win a Tibetan Singing bowl – a beautiful and unique instrument most often associated with the area around Tibet and Nepal.

Hailed for her multicultural approach to children’s entertainment, Daria’s award-winning children’s music spans almost two decades and reflects her travels to sing for children in over 16 different countries around the world.  With a passionate interest in music and community-building, Daria also has created a series of resource-rich websites that celebrate diversity and teach tolerance.

Daria’s free song page is located at: http://www.dariamusic.com/monthly_song.php.   Her main website can be found at: www.dariamusic.com.
