KDL Pathology Receives College of American Pathologists Accreditation

Jan. 25, 2012 - PRLog -- KDL Pathology | Knoxville Dermatopathology Lab announced today that its CLIA-registered laboratory has been accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) following a recent onsite inspection by the Accreditation Committee of CAP. The CAP Accreditation Program is generally recognized as being more stringent than the federal government’s own inspection program and the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has granted it deeming authority.

The CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program is an internationally recognized program for certifying laboratory quality, and inspections are conducted by practicing laboratory professionals. CAP inspectors examine laboratory records, quality control procedures, staff qualifications, facilities, safety programs and overall management of the laboratory. The program is designed to specifically ensure the highest standard of care for all laboratory patients.
