CTOPA Offers Free Workshop: New Market Opportunities for Photonics and Fiber Optics Companies

The Connecticut Optics and Photonics Association, the New England Fiberoptic Council and The Economic Development Council of Western Massachusetts are presenting “New Market Opportunities for Photonics and Fiber Optics Companies.”
 
Jan. 27, 2012 - PRLog -- Hartford, CT -- Presented in conjunction with the Connecticut Optics and Photonics Association (CTOPA) and the New England Fiberoptic Council (NEFC), The Economic Development Council of Western Massachusetts (EDC) is hosting a free workshop on “New Market Opportunities for Photonics and Fiber Optics Companies.”  This is the first in a series of presentations to be scheduled over the next several months focusing on opportunities for regional manufacturing clusters.  The presenting sponsor of the series is First Niagara Bank.

The event will begin with remarks by Allan W. Blair, President and CEO of the EDC, followed by Joseph Shaw, First Vice President, Regional Team Leader, at First Niagara Bank.  Chris Steele, Principal of CWS Consulting Group, will present their research on the sector.  Following the keynote speech by John Jay, Manager of Market Development, Corning Optical Fiber, Lee Kellett of NEFC will moderate a panel discussion.  A networking reception will follow.

The series is based on the “Economic Development and Business Attraction Planning” report completed by CWS Consulting Group with the support of Western Mass Electric Co.
