Born in the lively town of Miami, Steve Aoki founded his own label, DIM MAK RECORDS, in 1996. This label helped launch Aoki’s career into the world of electro house music. Aoki also stepped into the limelight as a DJ, artist, and producer by remixing popular songs from a variety of artists including Michael Jackson, The Killers, Lenny Kravitz, Weezer, Drake, and others. He has also recently collaborated with other like-minded artists Laidback Luke, Afrojack,and Boys Noize.
