Those looking to start 2012 in a new home may find that money is tighter than usual. That shouldn’t stop first-time buyers in Derbyshire, as Peveril Homes is offering FirstBuy at two of its developments, which negates the need for a deposit.

That shouldn’t stop first-time buyers in Derbyshire, though, as Peveril Homes is offering FirstBuy at both its V @ Varsity development, in Mickleover, and its Appletree Meadow scheme, in Etwall, which negates the need for a deposit.

With the FirstBuy scheme*, purchasers are required to raise just 80 per cent of the price of the home. The remaining 20 per cent is provided jointly by the government and Peveril Homes as an equity loan – interest free for the first five years. With several lenders on the market that could provide up to 80-per-cent loan-to-value mortgages, there’s no need for the purchaser to provide a deposit.
