Codethink Names Gabriel Vizzard Vice-President of Business Development and Marketing

Mobile telecommunications, open source software, embedded systems and large systems/cloud computing veteran will spearhead new business initiatives.

Feb. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- Codethink Limited, a provider of open source engineering services for mobile/embedded devices, today named Gabriel Vizzard as vice-president of business development and marketing.

Mr Vizzard is responsible for marketing, business development and solutions/product  strategy for Codethink worldwide.  A veteran of the IT and telecommunications industries,  he started his career with telecommunications policy and economics at graduate  school followed by software, hardware and services business development for IBM to a wide range of enterprises, especially wireless service providers, in Europe and worldwide.

Gabriel Vizzard most recently provided business development and strategy consulting services involving mobile semiconductor supply chains, mobile and embedded device product development, open source software business strategies and mobile advertising. Prior to that he had served as a board member, chief marketing officer and acting CEO for LastMile Communications Ltd, a mobile content delivery and broadband radio products company.

As IBM’s global leader for wireless broadband solutions Gabriel Vizzard led a global team which successfully launched innovative services solutions to a range of customers segments.  Previously at IBM he managed partner  alliances, where he created the first ISV partner programs for Java and the Internet.  Prior to working at IBM,  Mr Vizzard served in a variety of IT industry  positions, both creating and selling solutions.

Gabriel has a BA in Communications Studies from the University of California at San Diego where he graduated with honours. He has also  successfully completed coursework for a Masters degree in Communications  Studies specializing in telecommunications policy.
