Follow on Google News | Small Hands Big Art to Host Summer Camp in Dilworth / Myers Park NeighborhoodsSmall Hands Big Art, a Charlotte children's art studio, announces its satellite summer camp program at Covenant Recreation Center, located at 1000 East Morehead Street, Charlotte, NC, 28204 in the Dilworth / Myers Park neighborhoods.
The art camps will be offered weekly Monday - Friday, from June 18 – August 10 (no camp the week of July 2). There are two sessions daily: 9am-12pm, and 1-4pm. Small Hands Big Art's summer camps are based on it's established mixed media program at it's main studio in South Charlotte. During our three hour summer camps, children explore painting (watercolor, acrylic & tempera), drawing, 3D sculpture, collage, assemblages, printmaking & fun up-cycled projects. Children will have plenty of opportunity to work independently as well as to collaborate on group projects while making friends and creating together. Each day children will work on two – three different projects. “When it comes to fostering children's creativity, we believe that hands-on exploration with plentiful and appealing materials allows children to learn the elements of art such as shape, line, color, texture, form, space and value, as well as pattern and rhythm. Many of our projects expose children to famous artists and artistic movements throughout history. At the heart of everything we do, each child's unique creative vision and self-expression is valued and nurtured.” said Jennifer Bryant, owner of Small Hands Big Art.
