PRLog -- The text is checked every three years to be move with the times; in this edition 24 pages were added and several changes have been made. The part of the book about “the history of the costume” has been revised and corrected. Also the section about "the designers of the '900" has been revised and translated into English, finally new fashion plates have been included. Now the bilingual book (English / Italian), is composed of 400 pages, 200 drawings and 190 sketches. The book follows the method of study of the “Istituto di Moda Burgo”, explaining how drawing perfect fashion plates and includes the study of clothing for women, men, children, lingerie, bathing costumes and accessories (shoes, jewellery and bags). In the first part, the book explains the concept of proportion and the body dynamism starting from the sketchy of the fashion plate to the body dynamism. Then the book analyzes the single part of the body that is eyes, hands, nose, mouth, feet and legs. The most important part of the book explains the various techniques of shading with a pencil and different staining techniques with china, coloured pencils, watercoulors, and finally the “Pantone”, a marker used in design just in this field. The final part of the book deals with the history of the costume and the fashion designers who have marked the twentieth century. The study of this part is important to understand the evolution of fashion over the years.
