The Aquillrelle Wall of Poetry, Members Anthology, book One

We followed from a discrete distance the poems written on our “wall” (Facebook) and from time to time pulled one that caught our fancy to the safety of off-line storage. And we kept to this activity until we gathered sufficient evidence to talent and beauty to fill a book. Which is this book.

Of course, in true democratic tradition, we provided a chance for everybody by accepting at most three poems from each poet - though, admittedly, at times the choice was hard.

Some poems are translations, not the most accurate English but so much soul in them that we took them in as well. Some use rough English, even sporting some typos that we left in as part of the charm we found in the roughness. Some aim high, which made us smile in appreciation of the dare. Some we edited, very slightly. Some we didn’t even like and accepted the fact as related to our imperfection.

Yet, all had that some...thing.

We hope... no, wrong wording - we know you will enjoy this outstanding bouquet of word wonders, called at times also poetry. We definitely did.
