Follow on Google News | Kimberley Resources Conference Set for ReturnThe 5th annual Kimberley Resources Conference is back at the Cable Beach Club Resort, Broome on the 10th May this year.
The event will be chaired by Anthony Proctor, President, Broome Chamber of Commerce and will begin with an overview of The Kimberley by Peter Strachan, author of StockAnalysis. A government viewpoint will be put across by Dr Ivor Roberts of the Department of Mines and Petroleum. He will be discussing Government initiatives and project approvals in the area. The conference will then feature on case studies from across the Kimberley region. Jim Wall, Executive Chairman, KBL Mining will present on the Sorby Hills Project. Captain Vic Justice, CEO, Broome Port Authority, will explore their relationship with the regions businesses. Other case studies include the Canning Basin Energy Project; the Savannah Nickel Project; Lamboo Gold Project; Hastings Project; Mount Gibson Iron; McLarty Potash Project. The final case study is from Jennifer Joi Field, Mapping for Sustainable Futures, Doctoral Research Project, Western Australian School of Mines, Curtin University Department of Mining Engineering, who will present on using spatial information to clarify stakeholder shared visions and livelihood options in mining and gas developments in Australia. Proceedings finish with a panel discussion looking forward to the next twelve months and then a drinks reception. The event is endorsed by the Kimberley Development Commission; Australia’s North West Expo; Kununurra Chamber of Commerce & Industry; Broome Chamber of Commerce; Shire of Broome; and the Shire of Derby/West Kimberley. The conference is part of a busy period of events in Broome with Australia’s North West Expo being held at the Broome Recreation & Aquatic Centre on the 5th & 6th May and the Broome Beach Polo Festival starting on the 6th May.
