Harry Sukman was nominated three times for an Oscar® and won Best Scoring of a Musical Picture for Song Without End: The Story of Franz Liszt (Columbia, 1960).  His second nomination was for Fanny, for which he adapted the songs of Harold Rome’s stage musical into a melodic film score (Warner Bros., 1961).  His third nomination was for composing a dramatic background score that took the songs of Soeur Sourire to a larger public in The Singing Nun (Metro-Goldwyn-Myer, 1966).
