The KPSA Radio Show Celebrates Diversity with Special Guests: Angela Ward, Executive Director of Florida Diversity Council and Linda Johnson, NAACP Vice President of the Florida Conference

Feb. 26, 2012 - PRLog -- In celebration of diversity awareness, Kristy Taylor, host of the KPSA Radio Show, will be interviewing special guests Ms. Angela Ward of the Florida Diversity Council and Ms. Linda Johnson, Vice President of the NAACP Florida Conference.  

The Florida Diversity Council’s mission is to foster a greater appreciation and understanding of the value of diversity and inclusion.  The organization’s efforts and activities are centered on promoting diversity through education, leadership development, and outreach.  Florida Diversity Council has several chapters throughout the state of Florida and also sponsor’s several events throughout the year such as the upcoming 2nd Annual Florida Women’s Conference on March 2nd in Miami, FL.  Each year the conference brings together a diverse group of successful women leaders who share their experiences and discuss relevant topics as a means to educate and empower others; the conference is a great kick-off to Women’s History month which is also held throughout the month of March.  As the Executive Director of the Florida Diversity Council, Ms. Angela Ward will share her experiences in diversity both personally and professionally.  

As Vice President of the NAACP Florida Conference, Ms. Linda Johnson, has also had her share of experiences in promoting diversity and fighting for civil rights. A long time resident, politician, and civil rights activist in the Glades Area, Ms. Johnson is no stranger to being an advocate for others.  During her tenure in the Glades Area, Ms. Johnson as served as President/CEO of her own company, on the board of the Katherine Price Foundation, and as a City Commissioner for South Bay, FL.  Due to her inspiring story and many contributions to the Glades area, Ms. Johnson was also featured in the book:  “Up From the Muck,” written by Dr. Effie C. Grear.  As a representative of the NAACP, Ms. Johnson will be discussing her personal experiences with diversity as well as the impact of the NAACP not the Glades community but nationwide.

Both guests will share their inspiring stories as well as discuss key topics such as:

•   The role of diversity in family life and the workplace.
•   Upcoming Florida Women’s Conference and Florida Diversity Council.
•   Women in business and the impact of the glass ceiling.
•   The impact of the NAACP and its role in promoting diversity.
